Terms for using Mutant Vault.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Mutant Vault website and purchases made through Mutant Vault. By using this website or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms and the policies referenced on this site.

Products and Listings

Mutant Vault specializes in individually listed, CGC-certified comic books. Unless otherwise stated, the photographs in each listing show the exact comic being offered for sale.

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate titles, grades, page quality, certification numbers, prices, photographs, and other listing information. Errors can occur. Mutant Vault reserves the right to correct listing errors or cancel an order affected by an incorrect price, certification number, description, availability status, or other material error. If payment has already been collected for an order that is canceled, the amount paid will be refunded.

Inventory is subject to availability. Placing an item in a cart or beginning checkout does not guarantee availability until the transaction has been completed and accepted.

CGC Certification and Grading

Grades, page quality designations, labels, and certification information attributed to CGC are assigned by Certified Guaranty Company.

Mutant Vault does not independently grade CGC-certified comics and does not guarantee that another grading submission, reholder, pressing, cleaning, review, or resubmission would result in the same grade, a higher grade, or the same page quality designation.

Any decision to remove a comic from its certified holder, submit it for grading or regrading, press or clean it, or otherwise alter its certified state is made solely by the purchaser.

Curator Notes

Curator Notes describe observable physical and presentation characteristics of the specific comic being offered.

They may address characteristics such as cover wrap, centering, registration, color, gloss, staple placement, spine alignment, borders, back cover appearance, and visible manufacturing characteristics.

Curator Notes are observational. They are not an independent grade, appraisal, guarantee of condition, guarantee of future grading results, or representation of market value.

The CGC-assigned grade remains the grade represented for the comic.

Photographs and Visible Characteristics

Listing photographs form part of the description of the comic.

Vintage comics may contain date stamps, arrival dates, distributor markings, writing, pencil or ink marks, production marks, printing characteristics, or other visible characteristics.

Buyers are responsible for reviewing the provided photographs before purchasing. A characteristic that is visible in the listing photographs is considered part of the comic being offered even if that characteristic is not separately identified in the written description or Curator Notes.

Colors and appearance may vary somewhat depending on lighting, displays, browsers, and device settings.

CGC Holders

CGC holders may contain minor cosmetic characteristics resulting from manufacture, handling, storage, or normal use. These can include light scratches, scuffs, abrasions, Newton rings, manufacturing marks, or minor imperfections within the interior well.

Known significant holder damage will be disclosed when identified.

Minor cosmetic characteristics that do not affect the comic, assigned grade, or structural integrity of the holder are not considered material defects.

Prices and Payment

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

Prices and availability may change without notice before a purchase is completed. A completed purchase is subject to payment authorization and order acceptance.

Mutant Vault reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order when reasonably necessary, including suspected fraud, payment problems, listing errors, inventory errors, or other circumstances that prevent fulfillment. Any payment collected for a canceled order will be refunded.

Shipping

Orders are shipped according to the Mutant Vault Shipping Policy.

Buyers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Mutant Vault is not responsible for delivery problems caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the buyer.

Tracking information will be provided when available. Insurance and other shipping protections are governed by the Shipping Policy and applicable carrier or insurance requirements.

Returns and Cancellations

Purchases are subject to the Mutant Vault Return Policy.

All sales are final except as specifically provided in that policy, including qualifying shipping damage or fulfillment errors.

Buyers should review the complete listing, photographs, certification information, Curator Notes, and applicable policies before completing a purchase.

Collectible Values

Comic books are collectibles, and their market values can rise or fall.

Prices, Curator Notes, historical information, market commentary, or other material appearing on Mutant Vault should not be interpreted as financial or investment advice or as a representation that a comic will maintain or increase in value.

Purchasing decisions remain the responsibility of the buyer.

Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on Mutant Vault accurate and current. The website may nevertheless contain typographical errors, technical errors, outdated information, or other inaccuracies.

Mutant Vault may correct or update website content when an error is identified.

Historical, educational, or collector information is provided for general informational purposes.

Intellectual Property

The Mutant Vault name, branding, original photography, Curator Notes, written content, graphics, and other original material appearing on the website are owned by Mutant Vault or used with permission, as applicable.

Website content may not be reproduced, republished, sold, commercially distributed, scraped, or used to create derivative commercial content without permission, except where permitted by applicable law.

Third-party trademarks, comic artwork, characters, publisher names, certification marks, and other third-party intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.

Prohibited Uses

The website may not be used to commit fraud or other unlawful activity, interfere with the operation or security of the website, distribute malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, collect personal information about other users, or systematically scrape or reproduce Mutant Vault content without permission.

Mutant Vault may restrict access or refuse service when reasonably necessary to protect the website, customers, or business.

Third-Party Services and Links

Mutant Vault may use or link to third-party services for payment processing, shipping, certification information, social media, or other functions.

Those services operate under their own terms and policies. Mutant Vault is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of third-party websites or services except to the extent required by applicable law.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The website is provided on an "as available" basis. Mutant Vault does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the website.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mutant Vault will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the website or purchase of a product.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Governing Law

These Terms and transactions with Mutant Vault are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

Mutant Vault may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
